Hell's Kitchen Park

Hell’s Kitchen Park is one of my favorite places in the neighborhood. It’s a true West Side community hub where you’ll always find dedicated community gardeners tending to the space and neighbors stopping to catch up with one another. No matter when you visit, you’re bound to run into a familiar face. I’m especially proud to have led the team that installed the wall mural there, adding another layer of beauty and vibrancy to this central gathering place for our community.

Get there when the cherry blossoms are in bloom. Remember that old 80’s flick Legend? There is this one scene where a unicorn is trooping through drifts of flower petals. The park is a little bit like that.

During the worst part of the pandemic, my spouse and I took our tennis rackets to the handball courts at Hell’s Kitchen Park. We hit tennis balls against the backboard and got some exercise. It was nice to have a place like that so close.

Another haunt of the Hell’s Kitchen Rangers, this is a superb playground with great basketball/soccer/handball/whatever courts. The annual Halloween Party and Costume Parade is a can’t-miss event! Our family happens to be three-time costume award winning champs!

A nice place to sit comfortably and read. One can even take in a handball match in the park's adjacent handball court.

It makes me happy because I am building memories with my son, which I know he will never forget. I spend a lot of time in this park playing basketball with my son Noah. We used to spend many hours there when the kids were little. It's a place we got to know and spend time with other parents.
