Esposito Meat Market

For over 100 years the women in my family came together to make a recipe which required suet (yes — raw beef fat). As the years passed, Esposito became one of the only places in the city to get it. Thankfully, we have moved on to the vegetarian version of the same dish!

Esposito's has great staff and the freshest meats and poultry. It’s part of what I call "The 9th Avenue Shopping Triumvirate" with Sea Breeze Fish Market and International Grocery

It’s still nice to have a local meat market where I can actually discuss what I need for each meal and review the choices.

Who doesn’t love a neighborhood, multi-generational butcher who has exceptional customer service and the freshest meat around?

A legend! From pheasant to rabbit, you could find everything there… Talk about diverse dinners…

I quoted Ron Swanson earlier so there should be no surprise that I would call out a butcher shop. Their sausage is amazing but get there early. If you’re going to a bbq do your host a favor and offer to buy something from there.

The personnel is super nice and knowledgeable. It gives you the sense that nothing has or will ever change — what was good remains good and is still around. The meat is really first-class. Their sausages are homemade and just the best.
